Speech Bananas is recruiting for an individual to be responsible for the provision of diagnostic and therapeutic auditory, speech and language services to patients with hearing loss from birth through 21 years, and the education of family/caregivers regarding the patient’s auditory, speech, and spoken language development. You will be responsible for facilitating optimal acquisition and maintenance of spoken language through audition; these services include but are not limited to patients who have received cochlear implants. All therapy is provided in an individual setting with the patient and family/caregiver giving the patient optimal opportunities for growth and ultimate success in the development of above noted skills. Documentation regarding current levels of functioning, results of formal and informal assessments, progress over time, and formulation of appropriate goals will be essential with attendance at IFSP or IEP meetings mandatory.
Qualified candidates will be licensed (or licensure eligible) from the State of California as a Speech Language Pathologist or Audiologist and be certified in Speech Language Pathology or Audiology from ASHA. LSLS (Listening and Spoken Language Specialist), AVT (Auditory-Verbal Therapist) or AVEd (Auditory-Verbal Educator) coursework/certification is preferred, but not mandatory. Additional requirements include: Masters Degree from ASHA accredited program in Communication Disorders or AuD; experience with children with hearing loss and associated delays in language acquisition/development preferred to include familiarity with the auditory-verbal approach for assessment and treatment. Early intervention training is also preferred. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are necessary. Strong CFY (Clinical Fellowship Year) candidates will be considered. Currently seeking a full-time, but will consider part-time, or contract employee(s).
